City to Collect CSR Programs from Taxi Companies

Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama asks Jakarta Transportation Department to ultimatum taxi companies which until now still reluctant to hand out their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs for Jakarta. The reason is because now there are many taxi companies stationed in suburban areas and outside Jakarta, but taking passengers within Jakarta area.

They get huge profit. Maybe they think we are fool. Jakarta has a high demand for taxi, that’s what we should highlight

“They (taxi companies) opened offices in suburban areas, but coming in here (Jakarta) and take passengers as well. That is a public secret,” he said after the launching of Life Care taxi service for disabled people, at City Hall, Wednesday (9/10).

According to Basuki, taxi companies which stationed outside Jakarta are taking advantages from Jakarta but reluctant to give contributions to the city through CSR program. That is why he urges Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, M Akbar, to collect the data of those taxi companies.

“They get huge profit. Maybe they think we are fool. Jakarta has a high demand for taxi, that’s what we should highlight,” he stated.
